Spring Tips

 

 

Spring brings storms. Are you prepared if there is a power outage?
If you determine the outage includes your whole neighborhood call WE Energies (if they are your service provider) 1-800-662-4797 to report the outage.

1. Have a battery operated flashlight and radio handy and maybe some extra batteries! If you have to use candles - use them with extreme care. Do NOT leave a candle unattended, near anything flammable, or in the reach of pets or children.
2. Do NOT cook indoors with an outdoor grill or stove.
3. Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed. Food in a fully packed separate freezer could possibly remain frozen up to 48 hours.
4. Never touch downed power lines
5. Unplug appliances, computers, TV's, etc. to protect from power surges when power is restored
6. Your sump pump will not work during a power outage - stay out of a flooded basement.
